Sim, é um assunto complexo e não seríamos capazes de explicar o que sentimos no blog. Não seríamos capazes de explicar exatamente no que acreditamos aqui no blog – não sabemos nem o que nós mesmos estamos pensando. Mas estivemos na rua com alguns amigos na segunda-feira, na véspera de entrar no carro para uma viagem por Minas Gerais, para participar desse momento histórico.

Contra o aumento, a favor do amor, e para demonstrar que não estamos 100% contentes com o jeito que as coisas estão. Não temos soluções rápidas. Não concordamos com muitas/a maioria das “soluções fáceis” sendo propostas por aí. Não sabemos de quem é a culpa, sabendo que todos nós somos parcialmente culpados também.

Mas foi um dia que vimos espaços públicos sendo ocupados. Andamos a pé por lugares que nunca teríamos andado em São Paulo. Passeamos pela Faria Lima, pela JK, tudo a pé. Lugares reservados para os congestionamentos e a tristeza, ontem tão cheios de vida. Fotografamos gente sorrindo.

Sabemos que não é o fim. Não é nem um começo, precisamos começar a pensar em começar. Começar conversando sobre o que tudo isso significa para cada um de nós. Lembrar que existem pessoas com idéias, com idéias completamente diferentes das suas ou das nossas, que também estavam na rua abraçados. Somos todos diferentes, mas por uma noite houve “amor” em São Paulo.

This is all a little complex and we wouldn’t be able to explain what we feel on the blog. We aren’t fully sur ehow to explain exactly what we believe in here on the blog – maybe because we ourselves aren’t really sure what is going through our heads right now. We took to the streets with a few friends on monday, the night before we got in the car to drive to Belo Horizonte, to take part in this incredible moment in our country’s history.

Against the hike in the fares and to show that we aren’t exactly 100% happy with everything that is going on right now. We don’t have a perfect solution for all of this. We don’t really have a quick solution for this either. We don’t necessarily agree with many/most of the “easy” solutions that are being talked about by most people. We aren’t exactly sure of who’s fault this is, but we know that we are all a tiny bit guilty for all of this happening.

But this was indeed a special day. We say public placed being occupied by the people the way they were meant to. We walked through many placed we had only driven through in São Paulo. Places that were once only for cars stuck in traffic, but fr one night were filled with love and life. We photographed people smiling through it all.

We know that this isn’t the end to all these problems. In fact, we believe that this isn’t even a beginning. We need to start talking about everything and what all of this means to each one of us. We need to keep in mind that there are people that believe in different things than us, but for one night there was love in São Paulo and we all walked the streets together.

Nem dá para acreditar que já estamos na décima edição do pequenas doses. Foi algo que pensamos que talvez nos aproximasse ainda mais de quem lê o blog (além de quem entra aqui para ver casamentos), fora que pensamos que isso pudesse nos motivar a fotografar mais coisas “fora” dos casamentos – algo que amamos fazer mas que é difícil de encontrar tempo para fazer. Além de 10º aniversário de pequenas doses, hoje também é dia dos namorados. Apesar de preferirmos comemorar nossa própria data de aniversário de casal e de não concordarmos com todo o lado comercial que anda junto com o dia dos namorados, tentamos sempre que possível curtir alguma coisa juntos no dia. Hoje acordamos cedo e preparamos panquecas de maçã e canela. Não ficaram tão bonitas quanto as últimas tem ficado, mas essas foram umas das mais gostosas. Já estamos com o nosso jantar de hoje planejado, também Feliz dia dos namorados para vocês!

Essa semana foi bem cheia. Cheia de coisas ótimas- e outras nem tanto, mas estamos tentando continuar “vivendo” fora do trabalho. Sofríamos bastante com a questão de separar o trabalho da nossa vida pessoal, e cada vez mais percebemos que é uma questão de equilíbrio, não de separação. No fim de semana fizemos fondue em casa de novo, fomos até a 18º feira do imigrante e comemos até não aguentar mais, e no domingo fomos patinar! Imagino que isso vai acontecer com mais frequência daqui para frente

Essa semana também ficou marcada pelos confrontos nas manifestações para a redução da tarifa do transporte público em São Paulo (e em algumas outras cidades). Sem falar muito sobre o que achamos de tudo que aconteceu, ontem fomos até a Paulista e fotografamos um pouco.

It’s hard to believe we’re already on the 10th edition of “Small Doses”. It was just something we thought of that would maybe bring us closer to the people that read our blog to read about other stuff besides weddings. We also thought it would be an “excuse/reason” to make us carry a camera around and shoot other stuff besides weddings. Stuff we enjoy shooting but didn’t really make time to shoot. Besides today being the 10th anniversary of “Small Doses”, it is also “valentine’s day” in Brazil . Even though we’d rather celebrate our own anniversary, and besides us not really agreeing with the whole commercial aspect that this date brings, we always try to fit in a little something romantic on this date. Today we woke up early and made cinnamon apple pancakes. They didn’t look all that great but they were pretty delicious. We’re also planning a gnarly dinner at home for tonight.

This week was a little crazy. It was filled with some pretty awesome stuff (and others not as great), but we’re still trying to keep up with this whole “having a life outside of work” thing. We were struggling with this a bit. We were having a hard time separating out work lives from our own personal lives, and I guess we kinda realized it’s not so much of keeping them separate, but more of keeping them both in balance. This weekend we made fondue at home in a little dinner party we had, we also hit up a fair with food from all over the world and stuffed our faces – and then we went roller skating!

This weekend also brought riots and protests against the increase of fares in public buses/trains. We shot some pictures.

Na quarta-feira passada nós postamos em preto e branco e falamos um pouco dos dias que estavam por vir. Na quinta-feira, fotografamos um casamento lindo no Ruella Bistro. No outro dia acordamos cansados e cheios de preguiça, e ao ler o jornal nos deparamos com a notícia de que o Ruella havia sido assaltado naquela noite. Não conseguimos acreditar que horas antes estávamos ali fotografando um casamento tão bonito, com tanta gente feliz, e depois tudo isso aconteceu. Nosso anjo da guarda tá trabalhando direitinho. Que susto!

A sexta foi para descansar e tentar “viver” um pouco, com o aniversário de uma grande amiga e um café no Coffee Lab + uma pizza com a Maraisa e o Robson, um casal que fotografamos no ano passado e agora são nossos amigos!

No sábado, fotografamos o casamento da Tomie e do Bruno no Espaço Serra do Mar. Quando chegamos lá, encontramos a Tomie se arrumando – e um cachorrinho que não desgrudava dela. Esse é o Gordo. Ele deitou no vestido da Tomie enquanto ela se vestia, andou para cima e para baixo enquanto a Tomie e o Bruno entravam na cerimônia – e curtiu a festa a doidado.

Last week we posted in black and white and talked about the upcoming days. It was a long weekend in Brazil and we shot a beautiful wedding in a little bistro. We were exhausted the next day and woke up in slow motion. While reading the news, we found out the restaurant where we had shot the day before had been robbed during dinner that same night. It's hard to fathom how such a beautiful wedding had just happened there and then a few hours later this went down. I guess our luck has been pretty good lately.

On friday we tried to enjoy our day as much as possible. Hit up a great friend's birthday and met up with Maraisa and Robson, a couple we shot last year who are now our friends for some delicious coffee at Coffee Lab (most likely the best coffee joint in Brazil) and some delicious noms.

On Saturday we shot Tomie + Bruno’s wedding in the middle of the rainforest. When we got there, we found Tomie getting ready and a little dog that wouldn’t leave her site. That’s Gordo (Fatty) on the photo. He lay down on her dress while she was getting dressed, walked up and down the aisle while they walked in to get married – and danced it up during the party (all while wearing that awesome tux).
